Vanessa Marcil

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

A mix of Mexican, French, Italian, and Portuguese roots, Vanessa Marcil was born Vanessa Ortiz on October 15, 1969, in Indio, California. She started acting when she was just 8 years old but decided to study law after graduating from high school. However, the acting bug persisted and Marcil turned to theater, acting in several Neil Simon productions. In 1992, the actress joined the cast of General Hospital and stayed for six years (she returned to guest star in 2000, 2002, and 2003).

While working on General Hospital, Marcil appeared in the film The Rock and the made-for-television movie To Love, Honor, and Deceive. In 1997 she had a recurring guest role on the TV series High Incident. After leaving the soap opera, she joined the cast of Beverly Hills 90210 in 1998 but left two years later to pursue other projects such as the forgettable movies Nice Guys Sleep Alone, This Space Between Us, and Storm Watch. In 2003, Marcil landed a role on Las Vegas starring James Caan.

The actress married actor Corey Feldman in 1989 but divorced him two years later. She has a son with Beverly Hills 90210 costar Brian Austin Green.
Smolderingly beautiful actress Vanessa Marcil had a talent for performing from the time she was a little girl. She started out by acting in school plays and in talent shows, eventually winning the role of Brenda Barrett on the daytime soap General Hospital in 1996. Later that same year, she caught the attention of a much wider audience when she was cast opposite Nicolas Cage in the high-octane action thriller The Rock. A few years later, she joined the cast of the tawdry night-time soap Beverly Hills 90210, which she stayed with for two seasons. In 2003, she was cast in the series Las Vegas, a one-hour dramedy about the ins and outs of a high-roller casino. Audiences loved the show and they loved Marcil just as much — she stayed with the series for multiple seasons.
